Keep Prices, Services and FAQs Current Without a Settings Page
Price changes, holidays, offers and stock updated by chat with Maya, and why one approved update reaches every channel your AI employees answer on.

To keep your prices, services and FAQs current without a settings page, tell Maya what changed in one sentence, check the before-and-after card she sends back, and tap Approve. Your AI employees all answer from the same business info, so one approved change reaches Instagram, WhatsApp, your website chat and every other channel they cover. Prices are moving a lot right now: in NFIB's September 2026 survey, a seasonally adjusted net 31% of US small business owners said they had raised average selling prices, against a historical average of 14%.
Maya is the AI business manager inside Entagl: she talks to you, the owner, and keeps your customer-facing AI employees set up right. This guide covers business info.
What can you change just by telling Maya?
Almost everything a customer might ask about. The Maya page lists the full set; here are the everyday ones.
| What changed | Try saying | What you get back |
|---|---|---|
| A price | "Raise the consultation to $80." | A card: Consultation price $60 → $80 |
| A new service | "Add a 30-minute express facial, $45." | A card with the new service and its price |
| A question customers keep asking | "Add a FAQ: do you take walk-ins? Yes, before 2 pm." | A card with the question and answer |
| An offer | "15% off whitening until 30 November." | A card with the discount and end date |
| A closed day | "We're closed on 1 January." | A card adding the day off |
| Public holidays | "Add the UK's public holidays for 2027." | One card listing every holiday for that year |
| A product that sold out | "Mark the large tote as out of stock." | A card updating the product |
| Contact details | "Add our new branch on King Street." | A card for the new location |
You can also edit locations, phone numbers, emails and social links, change the details your AI collects from customers (a name, a date, a treatment), tidy your media library, and keep a back-office stock list with vendors and invoices. Prices here are examples.
For offers, Maya asks for an end date if you don't give one (or you can tell her it has none). She handles four kinds: a percentage off, a fixed amount off, a package price for several services together, and a "buy this, get that free" gift.
Why does one update reach every channel?
Because there is only one copy. Your AI employees on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok, Telegram, email and your website chat (and on calls, if you use Coordinator) read the same services, prices, FAQs, offers and hours. When you approve a change, Maya saves it there and clears the stored copy the AI reads from, so new replies use the new price.
Expired offers drop out on their own. Once an offer's end date passes, your AI no longer sees it, so nobody gets quoted November's discount in December.
This matters for a plain reason: customers take your AI's answer as your answer. In Moffatt v. Air Canada (February 2024), the airline's website chatbot described a refund rule that didn't exist. British Columbia's Civil Resolution Tribunal ordered Air Canada to pay CA$650.88 in damages plus interest and fees, and rejected the idea that the chatbot was responsible for its own words. The company is responsible, the tribunal said, "whether the information comes from a static page or a chatbot."
There is one catch worth checking today. If an old price is typed into your AI's instructions ("the consultation is $60"), updating the price list won't change that sentence. Maya can search your rules for prices and details that should come from your business info instead; our guide to finding out why your AI said something shows how. For the wider principle of grounding an AI in one source of truth, see how to stop your AI agent from hallucinating.
What does an update look like in practice?
Short. Here is a typical exchange on WhatsApp:
You: Raise the consultation to $80.
Maya: Needs your OK: Consultation price $60 → $80
(You tap Approve.)
Maya: Done ✓ Consultation price $60 → $80
In the app, the same change arrives as a card with Approve, Reject and Edit. On WhatsApp the buttons under "Needs your OK" are Approve, Not now and Details; our WhatsApp guide covers that side.
Got a whole new price list? Attach a photo or PDF of it in the web chat and ask Maya to update your prices. She reads the file for that request only and prepares the changes for your OK; the file itself isn't saved to your knowledge base. Send the same file to her on WhatsApp and it is added to your knowledge base as well. Pulling in your full catalog from a website or a Shopify store is a setup job, covered in setting up an AI assistant from your website link.
Who approves, and can Maya skip the card?
By default, nothing changes until someone taps Approve. You choose how much checking you want:
- Ask me first (Approval in the app, and the default): a card for every change.
- Show me the plan (Plan in the app): Maya lists the steps, you approve the plan, then she works through it.
- Just do it (Bypass in the app): she applies most business-info changes on her own. Offers that touch your services or products, any change that fails its test, campaigns, message templates, reminder messages and call lists still wait for your tap. On WhatsApp, and once Maya has read anything on the web, every change waits for you.
With Verify changes switched on (it is by default), Maya can test a change on a sample customer message before it goes live. Those test runs use training credits.
The owner, admins and any team member you give Maya access to can make these requests.
What can't Maya change here?
Some honest limits:
- New knowledge files can't be uploaded from the normal web chat. Upload them during setup or send them on WhatsApp. In the web chat, Maya can edit a file's description or delete it.
- Whole-catalog imports from your website, a menu or a Shopify store happen in the setup chat.
- Prices written into your AI's rules stay as written until someone edits the rule. Maya can find them, but a price-list change alone won't fix them.
- Your inventory list is for your records. Items, vendors, invoices and stock in or out help you run the back office. What customers hear about availability comes from each product's in-stock setting.
- Products that sync from Shopify have to be changed in Shopify. Maya can read them but can't edit them.
- Your own website and outside listings are yours to update. Maya changes what your AI employees know, not your web pages.
If you sell online, our post on AI that answers product questions explains why stock and catalog accuracy decide whether the sale closes. For service businesses, keeping holidays and hours right is what stops an AI booking agent from offering times you don't have.
Want to try it on your own price list? Text Maya on WhatsApp and tell her the first thing that changed.
FAQ
Does changing a price with Maya update my website?
No. It updates the business info your AI employees answer from, on every channel they cover. Your own website, printed menus and outside listings are separate, so change those yourself.
What happens to an offer after its end date?
Your AI stops seeing it once the end date passes, so it stops offering it. You don't need to delete it. If an offer has no end date, tell Maya it runs until further notice.
Can my staff update prices through Maya?
Yes, if they have access to Maya. The owner, admins and team members given the Maya privilege can ask for changes, and each change still arrives as a card unless the person asking has switched their own Maya to "just do it".
Does updating business info with Maya cost credits?
Chatting with Maya uses credits from your plan, and your first setup chat is free. If Verify changes is on, the test runs on sample messages use training credits.
