A Morning Briefing for Your Business: What Needs You Today

Maya, the AI business manager inside Entagl, can send you a daily briefing: one message, at a time you choose, listing up to five things that need you today, like a channel that disconnected, chats waiting for a person or credits running low. You already get enough pings: Microsoft's 2025 report on the "infinite workday" found its busiest Microsoft 365 users are interrupted every two minutes during core hours, 275 times a day. So the briefing stays off until you switch it on, and a quiet day gets a short all-clear with no notification.

Owners rarely get a calmer day. In a May 2026 Talker Research survey for Adobe Express, 54% of 1,000 US small business owners said they also play customer service rep, and the average owner works more than 200 extra hours a year. This Maya guide covers what the briefing shows, the two alerts allowed to interrupt you, the checks you can hand over, and quiet hours.

What shows up in the daily briefing?

It opens with a few numbers about what happened since your last briefing, such as chats, AI replies and bookings. Then come up to five items, such as:

Item When it appears Where the button takes you
A channel disconnected, or its connection ends soon Instagram, Facebook or another channel stopped working, or soon will The channel page
Your AI hit errors 3 or more replies failed since your last briefing A chat with Maya (Fix it)
Chats waiting for a person A handover has waited over 2 hours The inbox
Customers waiting for a reply A message from the past week has had no reply for over 2 hours The inbox
Replies marked as bad Someone disliked an AI reply A chat with Maya (Fix it)
Credits running low At your current pace they run out within 5 days Billing
Report suggestions still open Untouched for over a week The report
Things waiting for your OK Notes your team asked Maya to remember The memory screen
A question customers keep asking Asked 3+ times recently, no saved FAQ answer A chat with Maya (Fix it)

Urgent items go first; after that, Maya favors the kinds you actually act on.

"Fix it" opens a new chat with Maya about that item. Anything she proposes there waits for your OK, even if you normally let her just do it. For a bad AI reply, that chat picks up where finding out why your AI said something begins. Each item also has Done, Not useful and Don't show these (the last one is for the owner and admins).

The waiting-customer items earn their place. In our Response Velocity Study of 32,581 conversations, chats answered within 60 seconds converted at 35.1%, against 7.1% when the first reply took 1 to 24 hours. A handover nobody picked up overnight is that slow reply. (When the customer is the one who went quiet, see how to follow up with leads who stop replying.)

How do you turn the briefing on?

  1. Open Maya and click the gear icon at the top of her panel.
  2. Under Daily briefing & alerts, switch on Daily briefing.
  3. Pick a time: 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 12:00 or 18:00 (the phone app offers the morning times; 12:00 and 18:00 are on the web).
  4. Choose every day or weekdays only.
  5. Leave App notification on if you want the Entagl app to tell you when it's ready. This switch covers the whole workspace.

Only the owner and admins can switch it on. It lands in a read-only chat called "Daily briefing", pinned in your history with Maya. To ask about an item, tap its button or start a new chat.

What is urgent enough to interrupt you?

Two things. Nothing else.

  • Your AI keeps failing: 3 or more errors within 30 minutes, so customers may not be getting replies.
  • Your credits will run out within about a day at the current pace.

Urgent alerts have their own switch, off by default. You get at most 3 a day, never the same kind twice within 24 hours, and they don't use credits.

A disconnected channel isn't on the list, because Entagl already emails and notifies you about that separately. Silence isn't either: a quiet inbox might just mean AI is off on a channel, you're outside your AI hours, or your team took over.

Can Maya check something for you every day?

Yes, just ask. An example (her wording varies):

You: Check my unanswered chats every morning at 9 this week.

Maya: Scheduled. First check tomorrow at 09:00, then every morning for a week. I'll post what I find right here.

She can watch unanswered chats, handovers, AI errors, channel health, disliked replies and credits, or post a plain reminder ("remind me Friday at 10 to review prices"). The rules:

  • Checks only read. They never change a setting or message a customer, and they don't use credits.
  • Each runs at most 14 times, at least a day apart, ending within 30 days. Up to 20 can run per workspace.
  • Ask her to report only when she finds something, and clean days stay silent.
  • Results arrive in the same chat with a notification. Cancel any of them under Things I'm keeping an eye on.

To remind a teammate instead, ask for a staff reminder, covered in book, move and cancel appointments by asking.

How do you keep Maya quiet at night?

Pick Quiet hours in the same settings: 21:00 to 08:00, 22:00 to 07:00, 20:00 to 09:00, or off. They're set per person. During your quiet hours Maya sends no phone notifications, urgent alerts included. They wait until morning, and the app shows everything whenever you open it. Plenty of people need that line: in the same Microsoft report, 29% of active workers were back in their inboxes by 10 pm.

You can also switch off App notification, choose weekdays only, or tap Don't show these on an item type you never act on, which silences urgent alerts of that kind too.

What won't the briefing do?

  • Fix things on its own. Changes still go through your approval setting.
  • Reply to your customers. Maya never does; your AI employees and your team do, and campaigns or reminders she prepares only go out after your tap. (On why that team still matters, see does AI replace your customer service team?)
  • Show more than five items. The less urgent ones miss that day's list.
  • Work in HIPAA workspaces. Healthcare accounts with HIPAA on don't get the briefing or urgent alerts yet.
  • See outside Entagl. Your till and your bank aren't part of it.
  • Reconnect a channel for you. That login is yours; connect your channels, website chat and team with Maya shows which steps she can take.

The briefing is one switch in Maya's settings. If you'd rather start by asking her something, text Maya on WhatsApp.

FAQ

Does the daily briefing cost credits?

Mostly no. The checks behind it, urgent alerts and scheduled follow-ups don't use credits. One step does: grouping the questions customers keep asking into FAQ suggestions uses a small amount of credits on the days it runs. It's on by default, has a daily limit, and you can switch it off by tapping Don't show these on that item.

Who can see the daily briefing?

The owner, admins, and team members who have both Maya access and analytics access. Only the owner and admins can switch it on or change its time.

Why didn't I get a briefing this morning?

If nothing happened and nothing needed you, Maya posted a short all-clear without a notification. You also won't get one on a day you didn't pick, while the briefing is off, or during your quiet hours, when the notification waits until they end.

Can I get updates more than once a day?

No. The briefing runs once a day, and scheduled checks run at most daily too. For the two things that can't wait, switch on urgent alerts.
