Connect Your Channels, Website Chat and Team With Maya

Maya looks after the wiring of your Entagl account: she checks which channels are connected and which have gone quiet, puts the connect button in your chat, switches AI replies on or off per channel, restyles your website chat and invites your team. The main thing she can't do is sign in for you. Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and TikTok each make you finish the login on their own screen. That step is worth doing: Instagram passed 3 billion monthly users in September 2025, and WhatsApp had crossed 3 billion earlier that year.

Which of your channels are actually working?

Ask "Is my Instagram still connected?" or simply "How are my channels?" Maya answers channel by channel (the short version is on the Maya page):

  • whether each one is connected
  • which channels are silent: connected and switched on, but with no messages in the last 30 days

A silent channel deserves a look. Maybe nobody uses it. Maybe the connection broke and customers are writing into nothing. If you turn on the daily briefing (it's off by default), it also tells you when a channel is broken or about to expire.

What can Maya connect, and which steps are yours?

Say "Connect my Instagram" and the connect card appears right in the chat. No hunting for the Channels page.

Channel What Maya gives you What only you can do
Instagram A connect button Log in to your professional account and allow access
Facebook Messenger A connect button Log in and pick your Page
WhatsApp A button that opens Meta's signup Finish Meta's signup and verify your number
TikTok A connect button Log in to your TikTok Business account
Telegram A box to paste your bot token Create the bot in @BotFather and copy its token
Email A setup card Add a forwarding rule in your own mail provider

Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok and Telegram connect with AI replies off, and the card offers a one-tap "Turn on AI replies", so the AI doesn't answer anyone there until you decide. Email starts on Reply automatically (a draft for you to check in healthcare workspaces), so pick the mode you want during its setup. Prefer written steps? Ask, and Maya lays out the setup for any channel.

Working from your phone? On WhatsApp, Maya sends a short link for Instagram, Facebook or TikTok. It opens one job, needs no sign-in, works once and expires after 15 minutes. WhatsApp, Telegram and Email need a computer. More in managing your business from WhatsApp.

How do you switch AI off for one channel?

Connected and answering are two separate things. You can keep Facebook connected and have your team reply by hand for a week.

You: Turn off AI on Facebook for now.

Maya: Needs your OK: AI replies on Facebook Messenger, On → Off. Comments stay as they are.

Maya can flip these switches for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Instagram and Facebook have separate switches for messages and comments; WhatsApp has one. AI replies to comments need the Comments feature on your account. Every switch comes as a card, and "turn it back on" works the same way. Our guide to AI customer conversation controls lists the other controls worth having.

What can you change about your website chat?

The look and behaviour of the chat on your site, by asking. Each change arrives as a card:

  • the chat bubble's size, label, colours and theme
  • whether the chat opens by itself, set separately for desktop and phones
  • the welcome message, shown word for word in the visitor's language or adapted to the page they're on
  • a short disclaimer under the chat header, up to five points

Take the desktop and phone split seriously. In October 2026, 59.9% of web page views worldwide came from phones, per StatCounter, and a chat window that pops open on a small screen covers the page your visitor came to read. You might auto-open on desktop only and see whether phone visitors still find the bubble.

Maya can also give you the install code for your website platform, change the list of websites allowed to show the chat, or turn the chat off everywhere; each of those changes comes as a card too. If you use Coordinator, your website chat can also take voice calls; here's how that works.

How do you add your team through Maya?

"Invite deniz@yourclinic.com as an admin" gets you a card with the invite. Admins get every privilege; members get only the ones you tick. Changing a role or removing someone works the same way, each as a card. From WhatsApp, Maya sends an invite link instead, valid for 30 minutes and good for up to five invites.

Who can talk to Maya at all? The owner, admins, and members you've given the Maya (AI assistant) privilege. The team settings themselves are covered in team member features.

You can also tell Maya who gets an alert when the AI passes a chat to a person. That handover path matters to customers: in a Gartner survey published in August 2026, 87% said a company using generative AI for service must offer a way to reach a human agent.

What else can she set up?

Three things that work a little differently:

  • Outgoing webhooks, which send events such as a new booking to your own systems.
  • Custom functions (paid plans), which let your AI employees call your own tools.
  • Email channel settings: whether the AI replies to forwarded mail, writes a draft for you to check, or stays quiet.

In the app, these apply as soon as Maya makes them, without a before-and-after card, so say exactly what you want. If you're wiring Entagl into other software, start with how to connect an AI agent to your business systems.

What can't Maya do?

  • Sign in for you. Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and TikTok logins happen on their screens, by you.
  • Connect WhatsApp, Telegram or Email from a phone link. Those need a computer.
  • Repair a broken connection on her own. If a channel disconnected, she gives you the connect button again and you log back in.
  • Change your plan. She tells you what you're on and sends a link; you decide.

Not sure which of your channels are live? Text Maya on WhatsApp and ask "how are my channels?"

FAQ

Can Maya log in to my Instagram or Facebook for me?

No. She gives you the connect button, and you finish the login on Instagram's or Facebook's own screen. You never type your password into the chat.

Does connecting a channel start AI replies straight away?

Not on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok or Telegram. They connect with AI replies off, and the connect card offers a one-tap "Turn on AI replies" when you're ready. Email is the exception: it starts on Reply automatically (a draft for you to check in healthcare workspaces), so pick the mode you want during its setup.

What is a silent channel?

One that's connected and switched on but has had no messages in the last 30 days. It's worth checking that the connection still works.

Can my team members use Maya?

Admins can. Members can if you give them the Maya (AI assistant) privilege.
