Entagl vs Synthflow: Enterprise Voice or DMs That Book

Entagl vs Synthflow is a choice between enterprise phone AI and an agent built for customer DMs. As of October 2026, Synthflow's pricing page lists contracts from $30,000 a year, and its chat docs name four chat channels (WhatsApp, SMS, a web widget and an API), with WhatsApp and SMS on your own Twilio account in US-region workspaces only. We found no mention of Instagram, Messenger, TikTok or Telegram in its docs or integrations directory. Synthflow suits a contact center putting AI on its phone lines; Entagl suits a business that sells in DMs and wants bookings handled in the chat.

For the one-screen version, see the Synthflow alternative compare page.

Who is Synthflow built for, and where is it strong?

Synthflow is built for enterprises putting AI on phone lines at volume:

  • Phone lines. Its own telephony, SIP into Genesys, Five9, RingCentral and 8x8, and inbound and outbound calls that can run up to 40 minutes (source).
  • Certifications. SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI DSS and GDPR, EU or US hosting, and a template BAA signed with the contract (source). That is broader coverage than Entagl lists.
  • Testing. Test Center simulates calls before you publish a change (source).
  • Two-way SMS. Its chat agents hold SMS conversations. Entagl sends SMS reminders only.
  • Aurora. On the Enterprise plan, an assistant updates agents in plain language and reviews past calls for "concrete prompt or configuration changes" (source).

On price, the billing docs describe sales-led pricing with no published per-minute rate, and the usage docs count every 5 AI chat messages as 1 usage minute, with Twilio fees billed separately. The only self-serve price in the docs is a Freshworks-marketplace Pro plan at $400 a month for 2,000 minutes. Entagl is not low-cost either, but Receptionist's list price is not above Synthflow's sales-led contracts, which start at $30,000 a year.

Where does Synthflow stop for a business that sells in DMs?

Which chat channels does Synthflow's AI answer?

Four, and WhatsApp and SMS "require you to connect your own Twilio account"; EU workspaces show them as "Not available". We found no mention of Instagram, Messenger, TikTok or Telegram in its docs.

The chat API takes the customer's turn as one text field, "message (string, required)" (source). We found no mention of the agent reading photos, voice notes or PDFs.

What happens in the middle of a live chat?

Customers type "hi", then "how much", then "for two". The chat API returns one agent_message per message sent, and the only timing controls in the chat docs are an idle reminder and an inactivity timeout. We found no mention of a wait window that groups a burst.

For human help, the docs cover call transfers, including warm transfers with an "AI-generated conversation summary" (source). Chat logs show overview, transcript and actions. We found no mention of a teammate replying in a chat.

Guardrails are text you write into the prompt (source), and prompt-injection testing runs through Hamming, "an external platform" (source). We found no mention of a per-conversation reply cap. Prompt injection explained shows what is at stake.

How do bookings, reminder calls and follow-ups work?

Booking has setup guides for Cal.com and GoHighLevel (source), and Google and Outlook calendars sit on the integrations page. Rescheduling relies on "Cal.com's confirmation emails" or a flow you add (source). Charging during booking is "Yes, with additional integration", through a custom action such as Stripe (source).

Outbound calls start through the API, Zapier, HubSpot or Synthflow Workflows, which are Enterprise only (source). Campaigns are created through the API, and "Failed recipients are not retried automatically" (source). Synthflow markets reminder calls; we found no mention of a built-in no-show win-back call.

On chat, each WhatsApp or SMS conversation gets one idle reminder (default 1 hour). Outbound chats start one at a time through the API, using approved Twilio templates outside the 24-hour window.

What about setup, languages and products?

Agents are built in Prompt Builder or Flow Designer, and Flow Designer agents "require explicit handling of edge cases" (source). The homepage says "Forward-Deployed Engineers launch agents in weeks, not months". In fairness, its WhatsApp page says calling can go live in minutes.

Voice agents speak about 30 languages, set per agent, and Multilingual mode switches between ten (source). Arabic is not on the list. Product details come from a knowledge base or custom actions that look up "order status, or availability data" in your systems. Shopify appears as an integrations tile with no setup guide in the docs, and Trendyol is not listed.

What does Entagl do in a live chat, a booking and a call?

Entagl's Receptionist answers WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, forwarded email and web chat from one inbox. AI comes with every plan; you buy credits, with no per-seat fees. It reads your website and goes live the same day, with no flows to build.

Three messages in eight seconds. Receptionist waits a short window (default 8 seconds, adjustable from 1 second to 5 minutes), then answers the whole thought once. It also reads photos, voice notes, videos and PDFs, with some variation by channel.

Your colleague replies. Answer in the Entagl inbox or natively in Instagram or WhatsApp, and the AI pauses for that chat, then resumes after a time you set (default 60 minutes, or never). The inbox adds translation, notes, AI drafts and assignment. Human-in-the-loop AI covers why auto-resume matters.

Someone tries to break it. An input filter screens prompt injection, spam and verification codes before the AI runs. Replies are checked before they go out, for prompt leaks and, while a required-details checklist is still open, for a price the agent should not quote yet. A session limit (default 20 AI replies in 24 hours) stops a loop from burning credits.

The customer wants to book. Receptionist offers real calendar slots that respect your hours, holidays, capacity and buffers, prevents double bookings, and handles a reschedule or cancellation in the same chat. Reminders go out on WhatsApp, with Confirm, Reschedule and Cancel buttons whose taps the AI acts on, or as plain SMS. Entagl takes no deposits or card payments in the chat.

The customer needs a call. That is Coordinator, a separate product with its own credits. It answers inbound calls and places confirmation, reminder and no-show win-back calls, plus campaigns with retries, on phone lines and WhatsApp calling. You set the call length.

Another language, or "is the blue one in stock?" Replies come in 100+ languages, and the catalog covers stock, Shopify checkout links and orders, and Trendyol.
