A shared inbox gives the team one place to find conversations from connected channels. It can make assignment, notes, and human intervention easier to manage. A teammate answering a message should be able to see which channel the customer used and where a reply will go.

How should a customer continue on another channel?
Consider a service inquiry that starts on Instagram and continues on WhatsApp. If the records are appropriately linked and the relevant information is available, the team should be able to understand what has already happened. The customer should not be asked to repeat information merely because an operator cannot find it.
That is the desired experience, not a guarantee that every platform can identify every account. Test the journey from the customer side and the operator side. Inspect what information the AI is actually able to use and which details stay private or unavailable.

Is a combined history also a place to send messages?
Not necessarily. A product may provide a combined reading view while keeping replies inside the individual channel conversations. That separation can make the destination clearer, particularly when channel permissions or messaging windows differ.
Do not interpret one customer record as permission to message that person everywhere. Each connected channel has its own rules and available information. A private message, public comment, review, and voice call are different surfaces, even when they appear in the same business platform.
This is also why a reviewer's public display name should not automatically unlock private customer context. Appropriate linking and access matter more than a broad claim that the AI “remembers everything.”
How does continuity help sales and support?
A useful record connects the business relationship: inquiry, collected details, booking or purchase, and later support. The operator can see what needs doing next, while AI uses the information and actions available to its configuration.

Can I assume the AI sees all historical messages?
No. The information available to an AI depends on the product's features enabled for your workspace. A visible customer history does not establish unlimited information available for each reply.
Can I send the same reply to every customer channel?

What should an owner do with a possible duplicate?
Review the evidence that the records belong together and use the supported correction controls. Do not combine people merely because their display names look similar.
