Inbox & tags

The closing reasons and contact tags your whole team shares.

Overview

Two short lists live here, and everyone in the workspace uses them. Closing reasons are what your team picks when they close a chat, like Booked or Not interested, so you can see later how chats ended. Contact tags group your customers, like VIP or Wholesale. Find them under Settings → Inbox & tags.

Features

Closing reasons

Add a reason with a short name and, if you like, a line on when to use it. Quick add fills in four common ones: Booked, Sale made, Not interested and Spam. You can rename a reason any time. Removing one hides it from the close window, but chats that were already closed with it keep showing it.

Contact tags

Give each tag a name and a color. Renaming a tag updates it on every contact that has it, and Entagl tells you how many contacts changed. Tags you add straight on a contact also appear in this list.

Who can change what

Anyone with access to the inbox or to contacts can open this page. Closing reasons can only be changed by the workspace owner or an admin. Everyone else can still pick them when closing a chat. Contact tags can be added, renamed and deleted by anyone with access to Contacts.

Common tasks

Add a closing reason

About 1 min
  1. Go to Settings → Inbox & tags.
  2. Under Add a closing reason, type a short name, for example "Booked". Add a line on when to use it if that helps your team.
  3. Press Add. It shows up straight away in the window your team sees when closing a chat.

Rename a tag on every contact at once

About 1 min
  1. Go to Settings → Inbox & tags and find the tag under Contact tags.
  2. Press the edit button next to it and type the new name. You can change the color too.
  3. Press Save. Every contact with the old tag now has the new one.

Tips

The closing note travels with the Conversation closed webhook event, so if you use webhooks or Make, your other tools can see how each chat ended.
Deleting a tag removes it from every contact that has it, and campaigns or filters that use it stop matching those contacts. This can't be undone. If you only want a new name, rename the tag instead.
You can keep up to 100 closing reasons, and each name can be up to 80 characters.
